Rosa Sicilia (born in 1993, Cosenza, Italy) is Associate Professor in Information Processing Systems (SSD IINF-05/A) at UniCamillus – Saint Camillus International University of Health Sciences, Rome, Italy. She obtained her Ph.D. in Bioengineering and Biosciences (Computer Science area) in 2020 from Università Campus Bio-Medico di Roma. In 2023, she obtained the Italian National Scientific Qualification (ASN) as Associate Professor in Information Processing Systems.
Her research focuses on Artificial Intelligence, with particular emphasis on machine learning, deep learning, and multimodal data mining for the analysis of complex biomedical and social data. Her main research interests include multivariate time-series analysis, radiomics and radiopathomics, explainable AI (XAI), and the development of multimodal models for precision medicine. Her work bridges methodological AI research and real-world clinical applications, contributing to the advancement of digital health and data-driven medicine.
She has authored 50+ peer-reviewed scientific publications, presented her work at numerous international conferences, and actively collaborates in interdisciplinary research projects in biomedical AI. She has supervised 20+ Bachelor’s and Master’s theses and 5+ Ph.D. students, mentoring young researchers in machine learning, multimodal data analysis, and biomedical AI applications.
Rosa has held several leadership roles within the CBMS community, serving as Programme Committee Chair (2022, 2024), General Chair (2023, 2025), Steering Committee Vice-Chair (2023-2025) and Steering Committee Chair (from 2025).
