- Bio: José Alberto Benítez-Andrades was born in Granada, Spain, in 1988. He received his B.S. degree in Computer Engineering and his PhD in Production Engineering and Computing from the Universidad de León, Spain, in 2010 and 2017 respectively. Alongside holding two master’s degrees in Languages and Information Systems (2013) and Engineering and Data Science (2021), he serves as an Associate Professor (civil servant) at the Universidad de León since 2013, accumulating over 1500 hours of lectures. In management, he has roles as Coordinator of the Degree in Data Engineering and Artificial Intelligence, Coordinator of Extracurricular Internships, and several Erasmus destinations, as well as being the Deputy Director of the School of Industrial, Computer, and Aerospace Engineering.His research areas include artificial intelligence, knowledge engineering, and social network analysis, mainly applied to health. He is a collaborating researcher in the Horizon 2020 project ‘REMODEL’ and locally coordinates the ‘Research Task Force’ work package within the EURECA-PRO university alliance, comprising nine universities from seven different countries. He has contributed over 45 publications indexed in JCR, presented at 30 international conferences, serves as an associate editor for BMC Medical Informatics and Decision Making and PeerJ Computer Science, has organized several international conferences since 2018, and evaluates international projects for the governments of Spain and Peru.
